We understand how the diagnosis of cancer can be overwhelming. At Wdowin NMD Integrative Medical Center, we want you to know that Dr. Wdowin and his team are committed to supporting you throughout your journey.

What is cancer?
Cancer is a name given to a collection of related diseases in which abnormal cell growth occurs. These abnormal cells continue to multiply and can destroy normal, healthy cells and tissues in the process. Cancer is a result of changes within the genetic makeup of cells, causing them to mutate and grow at abnormal rates throughout the body.

There are around 200 forms of cancer. The most common forms of cancer in the United States include breast, colorectal, lung, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and skin cancer.

Certain factors that may increase your risk of cancer include:
● Chronic diseases
● Excessive sun exposure
● Family history
● Obesity
● Poor nutrition
● Smoking
● Unsafe sexual practices

By maintaining a healthy lifestyle and a balanced immune system, you can significantly decrease your risk of developing cancer.

How is cancer treated?
Our staff is trained in the use of both conventional and integrative cancer treatments. We will work together with your doctors to ensure your treatment plan is right for your needs and condition.

Conventional treatments include chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. These treatments focus on slowing cell growth and eliminating cancer cells from the body while protecting healthy cells and tissues. They also help to lower the chance of cancer cells spreading to other regions of the body.

Our treatments and cancer support services increase the success of conventional treatments while reducing the side effects commonly associated with those treatments.

What kinds of cancer support services do we offer?
We are proud to offer a wide range of integrative medicine cancer support services. These services can be combined with conventional treatments depending on your condition and approved treatment plan.

Integrative therapies aim to cleanse the body of toxins that promote cancer growth. These support services also work to boost the immune system to enable better prevention and defense against cancer cells. In addition to these objectives, integrative treatment options for cancer strive to provide optimal nutrition to the body to increase the body’s ability to fight off cancer cells.

At Wdowin NMD Integrative Medical Center, we are committed to keeping your immune system strong and healthy through immunotherapy, chelation therapy, cell infusions and injections, and IV nutritional therapy.
